From Student to Data Analyst: A Journey of Growth
Landing a dream job in data analytics wasn’t easy—especially graduating during lockdowns—but with persistence, community, and a bit of luck, I found my path.
My time at Journal was brilliant but finishing university during covid lockdowns made job hunting tough, so I pursued a master’s to strengthen my skills. While searching for data analytics roles, I worked part-time as a waiter before securing a full-time position as an analytics consultant at NOUS, where I’ve now been for over two years. My work, primarily with not-for-profits, universities, and government, is both meaningful and rewarding. Journal was a home away from home, helping me form lifelong friendships and develop leadership skills as a student leader. Looking back, I’d tell my younger self to step out of my comfort zone more—because the friendships and experiences made all the difference.
